Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use this website or buy services from Smart Career Compass. By booking or paying for a service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Smart Career Compass is a trading name of Advance with Abs Project Management Services, a sole establishment licensed by the Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai, UAE (Licence No. 1652845). You can reach us at hello@smartcareercompass.com.

2. Our services

We provide career advice and counselling: coaching, guidance and feedback on your CV and LinkedIn profile, interview and negotiation preparation, and UAE/GCC relocation guidance. Our role is to advise and coach you. We do not write, edit, submit or manage documents, profiles or job applications on your behalf, and you remain in control of your own materials. Services are offered in three tiers: a Discovery Session, a Full Career Roadmap and Private Career Advisory. The current content and price of each tier is shown on our Services page. Sessions are delivered online by video call unless we agree otherwise.

3. No guarantees, and not professional advice

We work hard to help you present yourself well and make informed decisions. However, we cannot guarantee interviews, job offers, salary levels or the outcome of any visa or relocation process, because these depend on factors outside our control.

Our guidance is general in nature. We are not legal, immigration, tax or financial advisers, and nothing we say should be treated as such. Please check visa, tax and legal matters with the relevant official sources or a qualified professional.

4. Booking and payment

• All prices are in US dollars.
• Payment is taken in full at the time of booking through a third-party payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
• You must be at least 18 years old to book our services.
• Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received.
• All payments are final and non-refundable, except where we cancel a booking. See Refunds and cancellation below.

5. Refunds and cancellation

This section applies to all paid services. All prices are in US dollars. If anything is unclear, email hello@smartcareercompass.com before you book.

No refunds. All payments are final and non-refundable, with one exception: if we cancel a booking, we will refund you in full for any sessions not yet delivered. By booking and paying for any of our services, you agree to this. If you are not sure which service is right for you, we recommend starting with a Discovery Session, or emailing us with your questions before you book.

Rescheduling.

• With 24 hours' notice or more: you can reschedule any session free of charge using the link in your booking confirmation email.
• With less than 24 hours' notice, or a no-show: the session is forfeited. We may offer one reschedule at our discretion.
• If we need to move a session: we will offer you a new time that suits you.
• If we cancel a booking: you will receive a full refund for any sessions not yet delivered. Refunds go back to the original payment method and usually appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Engagement periods. The Full Career Roadmap runs over 2–4 weeks and Private Career Advisory runs over 3 months. Sessions not used by the end of that period lapse, unless we agree an extension in writing.

Discovery Session credit. If you book the Full Career Roadmap or Private Career Advisory within 14 days of your Discovery Session, your $149 is credited in full against the price of that service.

• One credit per Discovery Session.
• The credit applies only to the Full Career Roadmap and Private Career Advisory.
• The credit cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another person.
• The credit expires 14 days after your Discovery Session.

Payment concerns. If you have a concern about a charge, please contact us at hello@smartcareercompass.com before raising a dispute with your bank. We will respond and try to resolve it as quickly as we can.

Free resources. Free guides and downloads are provided at no cost.

Your legal rights. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable law.

6. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate and complete information, and share documents such as your CV in good time.
• Attend your sessions on time. Rescheduling and cancellation are covered in Refunds and cancellation.
• Make any changes to your own CV, LinkedIn profile and job applications yourself, based on our advice. You are responsible for their final content and for submitting them.
• Make your own decisions. You remain responsible for the choices you make about your career and any move.

7. Confidentiality

We treat the information you share with us as confidential and will not disclose it to anyone without your consent, except where required by law. We do not record sessions unless you agree to it first.

8. Intellectual property

The content of this website, our guides, templates and other materials belong to us. You may use them for your own personal career purposes, but you may not copy, resell or distribute them. Your own documents, such as your CV and LinkedIn profile, remain yours. Any written feedback, notes and recommendations we give you are for your personal use.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, our total liability to you for any claim connected with our services is limited to the fees you paid for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost job opportunities or lost income.

10. Third-party services and links

We use third-party services to run our business, including scheduling, payment, email and video call providers. Our website may also link to other sites such as YouTube. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. The terms in force at the time you book are the ones that apply to your booking.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
